Digital hive Apipulse

ростелеком, цифровая платформа для пчеловодства
From January 18 to 20, the 4th International Congress of Industrial Beekeepers of Russia was held in Ufa at the Taratau Congress Hall.

There are more than 500 participants at the congress, including representatives of the largest producers in the beekeeping industry from all over Russia,
40 exhibitors took part in the exhibition part of the congress,
More than 20 reports were heard from respected and experienced experts in the beekeeping industry from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the USA, and various countries.

Due to the fact that the most pressing problems for all beekeepers, which affect both large companies and amateur apiaries, were discussed, it was decided to make the congress open.

Our company presented at the congress a new product on the market of beekeeping products: the Apipulse system for comprehensive monitoring and notification of the state of bee colonies.
Today this is a unique product for Russia, which can be compared to a “smart home” and called a digital hive.
The hardware of the digital hive of the Apipulse system consists of a control unit, as well as a set of wireless sensors.
Sensors installed in the hives collect a wide range of information in real time, which is transmitted to the control unit, from where data on the condition in the hive is transmitted to the Apipulse application or to the beekeeper’s personal account on the website apipulse.ru.
Transfer of data received using Apipulse can be carried out using any cellular network operator: Rostelecom, MTS, Beeline, Megafon, Tele2.
Today, the digital hive of the Apipulse system provides information on the following parameters: sound level/sound frequency spectrum inside the hive, weight of the hive, temperature, humidity, orientation of the hive, it is possible to determine the location of the hive.
Such a wide set of parameters allows you to effectively monitor the microclimate in the hive, the stress level of the bee colony, react in time and prevent weakening of the bee colony or swarming.
The hardware of the Apipulse system consists of:
- control unit (one is installed per apiary, collects and transmits information from sensors in the hives, which is available to the beekeeper in real time in the Apipulse application and in the Personal Account on the website), it is possible to determine location
- sound/frequency spectrum sensor (audio listening is optional)
- apiary scales (the design allows for easy installation under a full hive and calibration)
-temperature and humidity sensor
- hive orientation sensor.
Each sensor is equipped with a QR code, which was originally conceived as a tool for linking a specific sensor to the Apipulse application and initialization in the Apipulse system. Later it became clear that, together with the set of data provided by the Apipulse system, the QR code can be used as a legally prescribed marking, as a key to comprehensive information about the traceability of the origin of honey and bee products from apiaries where Apipulse is used.
As part of the exhibition exposition of the congress, our representatives demonstrated all these capabilities of the Apipulse system and talked about how we see the development of Apipulse. In the future, our company plans to develop a Digital Platform for beekeeping using the hardware of the Apipulse digital hive.
